Hi All
Today would have been the most people and aircraft to join us for breakfast in a long time.
Mount Gambier Aero Club spent Friday and Saturday in Echuca and decided to come up to Deni for breakfast on their way home.
So we had 36 from Mount Gambier plus our regular fly-ins from Hay, Benalla and Bendigo.
We also had Peter Thompson and his family come over from Manangatang.
A big thank you from Bluey to the local members who came out yesterday and today to setup, clean , cook and generally entertain our visitors.
Fantastic effort from all.
Cheers

Hi All
Great to see more than 30 people at the club this morning.
Lot of locals, people from Bendigo, Rochester, Cohuna, Bears Lagoon, Pyramid Hill and Moorabbin.
Hopefully I haven't forgotten anyone.
But what a great day, we had David Fisher come up from Moorabbin in a Cessna Citation which impressed the people present today.
As I always say our club is only where it is because of our hard working members.
JR was the photographer today and below are his photos as he saw the morning.

Hi All
Last 2 weeks has seen a lot of new faces fly in for Sunday morning breakfast, we had Bill Hall from Cohuna who came across on the 12th, with 4 planes from Cohuna on the 19th, great support from Cohuna. Plus we get our regulars being Ken Munn from Hay, Jim Barry from Swan Hill, Murray from Cohuna plus Mark Fraser and crew from Tocumwal.
Great to see all the new faces which means that we are a popular venue for a Sunday fly.
And great to see all the locals who drive out for breakfast each Sunday and then going flying.
Cheers

Sunday 5th April 2015 Easter Sunday
Hi All
Today being Easter Sunday with Gary and Des doing omelettes, hash browns and bacon we were expecting a big roll up but the early fog put a bit of a dampener on this with only two planes coming in this morning from Benalla and Bendigo, 3- 4 others turned back to home as the fog got lower.
But we still managed 16 for breakfast.
Ian McAtamney was the only local to go up this morning after breakfast.
Cheers

Great weekend with Xmas in July and a lot of visitors for breakfast on Sunday
This last week was a busy time at the aero club and indeed the airport with the Ballarat Training School here for the last 10 days.
Friday saw our Xmas In July celebrations with 30 members enjoying a wonderful roast meal.
A big thankyou to Peter Hetherington and Fran Braybon for cooking the roast meat and vegetables.
Great had by all.
Then what we thought may have been a quiet Sunday morning turned into a busy morning with 20 people flying in from Finley, Tocumwal and Echuca.
Also this week saw local member Jarrod Clowes being nominated and accepting the SAAA's President's position.
A very big achievement for Jarrod and the DAC wish him well in the position.

Sunday 12th jan 2014
As per usual we had a great rollup for breakfast this week.
John and Darren put on great breakfast and our new 20 egg poacher is great.
Makes it easier to cook a lot of eggs at once and people are happier with poached eggs rather than fried.
Our Sundays seem to be getting better and better with a lot more visitors flying in which is great for our club.
Doesn't matter where you go someone will mention what a great breakfast we put on.
Cheers

Hello To All,
Our Friday night social evening turned out to be a great event, even though the weather prevented our visitors from flying Terry and Carl made an effort and drove their car to be here, thanks to those members who provided the salads. Terry and Carl were most impressed with our club, stating that it is one of the best clubs they have seen for a long time.
Their intentions are to have a fly in to Deniliquin with the Tyabb Aero Club in the near future. sorry no photos of Friday evening.
Sunday breakfast was as normal this week, a little on the chilly side with the southerly winds but a bright blue sky.
Simon and Leo being the cooks, our visitors this Sunday were Steve in his Jabiru and Murray from Cohuna for his usual cup of tea and a chat.
Don't forget next Sunday after breakfast Bruce has organised a mini navigation trial.
Cheers
Roger

Hello To All,
Sunday breakfast was a little quieter last week after a couple of big weeks previous. We had a couple of very early birds from Echuca who arrived around 7.45am. Ken M from Hay flew down and brought along his grandson for breakfast, we had a visit from Nobby of Corowa and of course our local regulars.
It was quieter on the flying front as well, Steve decided to do some early flying taking Scotty for a run with him. Jarrod and I hope to put together a time trial run in the very near future, maybe after the Airtourer weekend visit and before the Ute Muster weekend.
The Airtourer weekend looks to be a good weekend with around 31 of their members joining us for Sunday breakfast, more details about that later from Scotty.

Hello To All,
First I would like to congratulate Bruce Scott on becoming the new President of the Deniliquin Aero Club. He will do a good job and I know all the members are behind him, congratulations to Jamie Ball as our new Secretary, also congratulations to our two new board members Darren Manzin and John Russell, our A.G.M. was well attended and the evening meal was superb.
Sunday breakfast was another big day, it was aeroplane heaven at the airport, with planes everywhere and all sorts of aircraft, Yak's, Cessna's, Jabiru's, Tecnam's, Sports star's, Pitts Special, but no RV's this week. The Yak's performed a formation flying demonstration for the Pretty Pine Father's Day gathering, and the Pitts carried out some aerobatics. There was activity happening nearly all day at the airport and at the clubrooms. The cooks were kept busy until well after our 9.30am cut off time and it was one of those days where every thing just fell into place. The weather could not have been better, a perfect Spring Sunday morning with not a cloud in the sky and the temp around 20 degrees C.
Roger P and John Mac flew to Tocumwal to join the M.B.F.C. Scout day which was very successful day for the Scouts, they were given joy flight's a BBQ lunch, then a tour of the hangars where the Jet fighter aircraft are stored ready for restoration.

Hello To All,
There was a very good rollup for breakfast this morning with more than 20 people arriving, they must have heard that Jennifer and Andrew were filling in again today, with Trevor joining Jen and Andy at the helm. It was the perfect morning for a hot hearty breakfast of tomatoes, bacon and eggs.
Phil from Finley was back again accompanied by Garry and John from Finley. Garry flew his Super Cub over. Dave Mc arrived with all his family to enjoy a good breakfast.
Not much flying to report from this end except that Nigel and Tom arrived in their baby Cub.

Hello To All,
Breakfast was hosted this morning by Jennifer and Nathan with help from Andrew, Jen served up her corn fritters and they were delicious, adding to the corn fritters we enjoyed Bacon and Eggs with Tomatoes.
We had some visitors fly in this morning, Mark and Richard from Toc, we had Russell and Ron arrive in their Pipistrel Virius as per the attached photo's, I must admit that I have never heard of this type of aircraft, but very impressive . Murray and June from Cohuna are regular now, Phil from Finley was absent this morning. Tracey called in to enjoy breakfast and have a chat with the girls.
We haven't seen Glenda from Corowa for awhile, where are you these day's Glenda?
Flying side of things Steveeee was up early practicing circuits, Nigel arrived with the Cub for a cup of Coffee, Jarrod loaded his Dad "Maxwell" on board and disappeared very quickly over the horizon somewhere.
Good to see we are still attracting good numbers for Breakfast, club members deserve a big pat on the back their contribution to our breakfast mornings.

Hello To All Members,
What a fun filled Sunday we have just had with Echuca descending down on us. Our cooks and helpers did a marvellous job to keep breakfast up to 33 people. Echuca members arriving in 17 aircraft, still up to their old tricks but they did warn us. We know that one toaster and 1 photo frame is missing at this stage.
We had some of our members fly to Tocumwal for breakfast and a visit to where the Strike Master Jets are stored, that visit was very interesting, we should try to make a club run over there one day for all to see.

Bill and Jamie were the cooks on Sunday Jamie standing in for Jennifer. We were treated to Jamie's toad in the hole style of eggs on toast with the usual bacon, ten people turned up for breakfast and the warmth of the fire, a Jabiru from Echuca and a yellow twin Comanche from Rand with two people in each plane arrived.
After breakfast Leo and Scotty in the Jabiru, Arthur and Roger in CUT, headed off to Tocumwal to inspect the Historic cars on display, but on arrival we discovered we had just missed them so we settled for a cup of coffee with the MBFC boys at their clubrooms. We then decided not to waste a great day for flying so we headed off to the Echuca club to join them for their Sunday Roast, after a superb lunch and a good old chat we returned home again.

Murray and June from Cohuna to join us, and lets not forget Phil from Finley, we also had the honour of a visit from Tracy, great to see you Trac,
Dave couldn't believe his eyes when Coota served up his breakfast, he didn't leave any part of his savoury meal.
Not much flying this morning except for Ken from Hay and Phil from Finley.

A few sleepy heads this morning it took a little time before bodies started arriving for breakfast, I suppose it is getting that time of the year for a little sleep in now and then. Simon and Bruce were the cooks this morning and performed very well, thanks to Bruce for filling in for Arthur. I haven't heard but I think Arthur may be away having some sort of operation, if that is the case Arthur, we all wish you well and a speedy recovery.
Roger had breakfast then headed off in the Jabiru to Shepparton for their Sunday Pan Cake Breakfast, arriving rather late breakfast was all but over, he did manage a couple of cups of tea and a good chat.
The Echuca boys were there in force and on the look out for whatever they could lay their hands on. There was a goorollup with more than 50 people there, We watched some formation flying and some aerobatics performed by Shepparton and Echuca Aero Club, it was quiet an entertaining morning.

Hello To All,
Hello To All,
We went from Summer to Winter in almost one day, Sunday morning turned out quiet chilly, so chilly we had to stoke up the inside fire to get warm. Thanks to Jenny and Jamie for filling in as cooks Jamie turned up a little late but he seems to have a good reason for doing so, sure Jamie we believe you!
We were honored with a visit from our old flying instructor from Tocumwal, John Williams, who was accompanied by Kathy Mextead from A.O.P.A. Kathy wanted to do an article about Sunday Breakfast in Deniliquin for the A.O.P.A. magazine. They were joined by Mark Fraser in the Cessna from Tocumwal.
The Mini Nav day went off very well, the weather was not as kind as we would have liked with rather strong winds to contend with, all who took part performed very well with good scores in the 80s and 90s. Peter H and Bruce S were equal first with John Mac and Jennifer.

Hello To All,
Another perfect Sunday morning for breakfast at the Aero Club Phil from Finley was the fill in cook for Jamie. Leo and Phil served up a delightful breakfast with Phil adding his touch of spicy mini quiches to the menu.
We had four members from Echuca join us and one lady was celebrating her birthday, a very close eye was kept on the Echuca members but they left empty handed, we had Murray from Cohuna call in again for this cup of coffee, that's two weeks in a row Murray.
Bluey was flying the Tecnam early and Jennifer carried out some training later in the Tecnam. Roger and Leo departed for Yarrawonga for a cup of coffee and a chat with Peter and Ann. John Mac followed Roger and Leo out but I don't know where Macka ended up. It was young Ben Clowes Birthday so Jarrod took Ben for a spin in the RV, happy 14th Ben.
Scotty went to Geelong on Saturday afternoon and went out to Avalon with his son Nathan today as well.

Hello To All,
Breakfast was very popular this morning with some flying as well, we had some visitors being our regular Phil from Finley. Richard from Finley and we had Murray from Cohuna call in for his usual cup of coffee when he visits. JR took off on a reconnaissance flight over the area to find and obtain the size of his opponents Pumpkins ahead of the Deniliquin show next weekend. Andrew and Scotty went off on another cross country somewhere and Jamie took Phil from Finley for some tail wheel practice. The weather is improving day by day for flying at this time of the year and pilots are starting to take advantage of the better conditions to do more flying.
At our meeting last Friday night it was decided to cancel the flyaway to Jindabyne because of lack of numbers. The May flyaway to Longreach is filling fast, so if you intend to join in, it is advisable to get your name on the board fast, as soon as I get an itinerary from Bluey's I will forward it on to all members.

Hello To All,
My brief is rather short this week and not as many photos as I would have liked, that is my fault because I had to leave early for another appointment.
Dol tells me that the numbers were around 19 which is a good rollup, I did manage to capture Phil from Finley and heard that Glenda from Corowa arrived just in time for breakfast.
I have attached a photo of my recently completed RV6. I have kept this a secret for as long as I could, but the word is out now.
I haven't received any names for the Jindabyne trip as yet and I don't think JR has either. If we can't get anybody interested very shortly the flyaway will have to be cancelled.
The quality of my photos should improve as I have invested in a new camera with lots more of those Megapixels, after all I have only had my old one for 10years!

Hello To All,
For those members who missed out on the Rotary evening you missed a very entertaining night. Thanks to Andrew and Nigel for donating their aircraft and time to take Rotaryians for a fly around the local area. Thanks to Paul from Field Air who also gave up his time, and allowed access to their hangar. Paul gave the group a detailed run down on the operation of the Air Tractors. Friday 8th - Sunday 10th Feb Comanchee Society Fly-In
The weekend started with the arrival of the Comanchee Society on Friday afternoon, after tying down their aircraft and settleing down, they joined us for our usual Friday night get together and BBQ and a good night was had by all.
Saturday morning it was heads down to the more serious side of theory courses, the courses were conducted for most of the day, after which the bar opened for some refreshments.
Sunday morning breakfast was held outside in the BBQ area to which I must say was very pleasant. The morning a little chilly but the company very warm, some of the Comanchee members also joined us for breakfast, after breakfast the courses and flying continued for the Comanchee Boys, while Andrew and Scotty decided to fly off to Echuca to investigate the Southern 80 Ski Race,
Let's not forget Phil from Finley who settled in for a chat that lasted longer than he expected.
Cheers

Hello To All,
With cool weather plenty of sunshine and a long weekend thrown in, made it a perfect morning to enjoy Sunday breakfast at the Aero club, and thats what a number people did, the cooks Jen and Andy put on a very good breakfast of bacon and eggs, tomato's and baked beans. We had some flyin's, two aircraft from Echuca and one from Cohuna that being Murray, we also had Des Ramseys brother and his wife Judy join us today. Phil from Finley went AWOL. Phil we would like a note explaining your absence.
The spot landing practic day went very well, with all pilots landing very close to the designated landing areas. John Mac took out the honours today receiving the most points. Murray from Cohuna chickened out this time, he is still recovering from the last practice day held in September 2012. These flying days are popular and are a lot of fun, there is no pressure on you at all, and it gets members and friends out to the areo club,
Cheers

Hello To All,
We all got a surprise this morning when we arrived for breakfast, Coota and Billy being the cooks, Coota filling in for Mark, so we were treated to Coota's famous omelettes and they didn't disappoint. Bill's bacon was just as good, but we have to say that.
Good numbers again this morning the weather cooler for a second week in a row, not much flying being carried out today, Jennifer was off on a cross country in the Tecnam, Roger did some local flying with Scotty. Nigel flew in with the Cub and Phil from Finley as usual. Murray from Cohuna called in for a cuppa.
Des went for a quick fly as well and when I left left Darren was just fuelling up CUT, not sure if he went anywhere or not.
A few members gathered on the back verandah for a good coffee and chat and a great laugh.
Bluey got back in the air today as well, he did his BFR with Jennifer.
Good on you Bluey
.
Next Sunday weather permitting we will hold a spot landing practice day on the sealed runway.
PS. Ever wonder why you don't ever see the headline: ' Phychic Wins Lottery' ?
One of those unanswered questions but I am sure that we could work it out on a friday night.
Cheers

Hello
To All,
Bluey and Arthur were kept busy this morning with a large number of members and family arriving for breakfast, weather was overcast and cooler which was a welcome change from the heat over the last couple of weeks. Glenda from Corowa joined us this morning as did Phil from Finley, we also had the Fire Bombing pilots from Field Air.
Roger was up flying early to take advantage of the cooler conditions, joining him was Geoff C in CTD, JR arrived with his plane to also enjoy the good conditions,
Nigel flew in with his Cub for breakfast, then Andrew and Scotty headed off to Corowa for the day. I forgot to mention last week that Steve went for a fly, sorry Steveee.
We hope to have another mini Nav or small comp day within the next couple of weeks, Andrew and I will work on it, but we are both away this coming week,.
The Jindabyne flyaway looks at this stage to be the 15th 16th 17th March 2013, JR will have more info at the next meeting night. The first weekend in March is the Deni Show, the second weekend in March is a long weekend in Victoria, then our Flyaway the next weekend which is two weeks from Easter.

Hello To All Members,
Sunday breakfast ended up being larger than we expected this week, with Rodeo volunteers stumbling out of bed for there breakfast before finishing off the cleaning at the rodeo site.
Cooks Steve and Nigel did a good job to which seemed to be a long drawn out breakfast, with people arriving rather later than usual.
Our arch enemies "Echuca" arrived in full force to recover their confiscated goodies from our last invasion, but were unable to obtain one item that is very close to their hearts, I don't think they have worked out what it is as yet, so we will keep them guessing. We have no idea as to what they have absconed from us, but I am sure we will find out soon enough.
Phil from Finley is back to being a regular again, it's always good to see Phil, we heard that Veronica from Kerang was on her way, but didn't manage to catch up with her, maybe next time Veronica.
Peter H had the Jabiru carrying out circuits in the midst of the invasion from Echuca and Finley, poor Peter every time Pete wants to go flying he seems to get bombarded with circuit traffic arrivals, Pete being a real cool cat takes it all in his stride.
With that I would like to wish each and everyone a Happy and Prosperous New Year.

Hello To All Members,
A very nice morning for a Sunday breakfast a little quiet to start with, but things hotted up as the morning progressed, Dave Jen and Andrew did the cooking with great ease. We had a new visitor this Sunday from Yarroweyah who flew his Jabiru in. Steve Lenne said he Looked up our website and thought to himself, I'd like to fly to Deni for breakfast today, and so he did. Phil from Finley has returned again after the completion of the shed he was constructing, good to see you again Phil.
I heard that Jamie came to the rescue of a Cessna 172 after it lost all electrics over Deni and made a hasty landing, and to their relief found the Aero Club was open, Jamie fixed their problem, they enjoyed a Breakfast and went on their merry way, well done Jamie.
I don't think any other flying was done by Members, when I left Simon was thinking of having a fly.
Mark's surprise Birthday cake went off very well on Frigay night, I heard that the party went on until late in the evening.

Hello To All Members,
Theweather turned out perfect for our Christmas party this year, a beautiful unset and a cool breeze made it a very comfortable evening.
Santa's arrival put smiles on all the children's faces as they received heir present, Santa was in his usual jovial mood with his Ho Ho Hoing, some of the Ladies made sure they got a cuddle from Santa as well.
It was good to see so many members and their families enjoying themselves, with plenty of food supplied by members and the club, there was truly plenty to eat.
Big thanks to all who provided the Salads.
I would like to wish all members and Families a Merrry Christmas and a Happy New Year, and if you are travelling over the Christmas period please drive or fly carefully.

Hello
To All Members
Breakfast went off well this morning a little down on numbers, 13 people enjoying Bill H and Roger P's cooking, nothing special just the usual bacon and eggs with a serving of baked beans. Bill's first time as cook went very well.
Andrew G and Bruce S represented our club and flew over to Kerang to join MMFC. Xmas breakup, weather was fine and cool so they had good flying weather.
Darren M and Tim Foster enjoyed breakfast, after which Darren proceeded to do a
constant speed and retractable endorsement in Tim's Arrow. "Well done Darren".
Don't forget the club Christmas party is on this coming Friday night the 7th December 2012 from 6pm, remember to bring your present to the value of around $10 for Santa to give out when he arrives.
Dol, Hieke,Tracy and Mark decided it would be a good opportunity to put up the Christmas decorations in the club house ready for Friday's Christmas party.
Would those members who would like to supply a salad for next Friday Chrismas party, please contact Dol by email at "[email protected]" or phone her on 58812243 with what type of salad you would like to bring.
Andrew and Bruce flew the Sportstar to Kerang for breakfast, there were about 40 odd people there for their breakup.
Echuca were there in full with 4 planes and 8 people and they could not help themselves they had to leave with something from the Kerang Aero Club, they took the Mid Murray Flying Club sign off the club house inside wall.
A few photos below from Deni and Kerang on Sunday.

As we expected there was a big rollup for breakfast this morning, the word got around that Coota and Des were the cooks and they didn't disappoint anybody, their surperb omlettes matched with bacon went down well with everybody, there was one early bird who didn't want to miss out, "Roger". Des joined him before the rush, as per photo, some members even came back for seconds.
We had a number of visitors this morning being Bill and Judy Harvey from Toc, Richard Smith who is becoming a regular these days joined by Mark Fraser who was doing his bi annual with Richard, we had Jarrods Dad Max and his Grandmother Mavis join us as well.
I don't know what happened to Phil from Finley this week, we missed you today Phil.
John Mac and Nigel headed off after breakfast to the Boort Fly in, what a great day weather wise they had for their fly in. The buzz of excitment is around the club with the Wentworth flyaway next weekend.
Bruce has numbers of around 52 people attending and numbers still climbing.
It's great to see so much activity happening in our club and it's only because all members are willing to pitch in and have a go, because of your efforts we are now attracting other people to our activities.
Well done all members.
Cheers

A report from David McPherson on the weekend events
We had a great Fly-in this weekend at Temora. The Museum had a flying day and David Lowy took up the spitfire, Dragonfly, Hudson bomber and tiger moth.
A couple of the wheelies scored a ride in the Hudson. I must have been distracted as I missed out (bugger). We were hosted in the VIP area on the display day.
There were about 20 or so Disabled pilots of various levels of at various times of the weekend with the emphasis mainly on flying. I logged 0.5hr in a skyarrow. Very scary having so much scenery up front and not much visible aircraft!!!!
We had around 30 at the dinner on the Saturday night.
Lord Glendenbrook is a major sponsor of wheelies with wings and he was flown in by the RFDS to present the recent www graduates with their solo certificates. He is based in England and was in Australia for another event.
He used to be the owner of British Midlands airlines until he sold to Lufthansa a few years ago. He started his aviation career as a baggage
handler and then eventually bought the company.
The Wheelies with wings web site is http://www.wheelieswithwings.com.au
The Disabled Pilots association has a page as part of this. http://www.wheelieswithwings.com.au/DPAA.html
Another web site that is of interest is http://www.onawingandachair.com.au
You may remember Dave Jacka from Fly-in at Deni. He is going to attempt to fly solo around Australia being the first quadriplegic to do so.
Another interesting bit of news is that he and fiancé Linda will be married in Thailand in 2 weeks time.
Cheers

Sunday 4/11/2012 Deniliquin Breakfast and the Echuca Aero Club Fun Day
Breakfast was full on again this morning, over 30 members and visitors made their way out to the Aero Club and enjoyed the usual. The Field Air boys were catered for before their days work began, Phil from Finley flew in again, and the Cessna from Toc joined in, and Nigel arrived with his Cub.
Great to see Tony and Maree Lowing joining us for Breakfast this morning.
After breakfast aircraft started emerging from hangars all over the airport, before you knew it, one could have thought one was at Mooroobin Airport. For some of them it was off to Echuca for their Fun Run Day, Steve H, Jarrod C, Bruce S, Andrew G, Roger P, Mark N, Jamie B, Phil M.
Jennifer went off to do some training in the Tecnam.
Field Air were busy carring out Ag work from the Airport.
We were able to secure a trophy from the Echuca Aero Club and return with the rest of our stolen items, a most successful day.
The Echuca Club put on a great day, they had a ventriloquist there intertaining the kids plus the big kids (see photos) had a great laugh as well.
Steve did a few flights for the Fun Flight Day and the Echuca and Deni Aero Clubs thank him for donating his time and aircraft to help make the day for kids an enjoyable one.

Sunday 21st October
Very quiet at breakfast this morning with only a few members turning up and no visitors even.
This would have had a lot to with members going to the Bushley Fly-In and others were away.
Gibbo and JR went to Hay for a BBQ lunch and to meet up with the others returning from Bushley via Hay.
Will upload photos of Deni, Hay and Bushley as I get them

Sunday 14th October
From Roger
Breakfast went off as usual last Sunday morning, with the warmer weather back with us again, 4 visitors from Tocumwal flew in with a total of 18 people sitting down to breakfast cooked by Jarrod and Steve. Have heard reports that an in depth reconnainssance mission of the new hangar sites was carried out after breakfast. I have also heard that Bluey carried out spraying operations of the lawn areas for weed control. Jarrod took to the air for some more sight seeing around the local area.
Unfortunately there were only 2 photos taken last sunday.
Sunday 7/10/2012
Bit quieter today with around 10 members enjoying breakfast, I think that Bathurst and the start of daylight saving kept a few at home.
Shepparton had their pancake breakfast at Wahring Field and this was attended by Jarrod and Sharon.
Scotty and Gibbo went to Yarrawonga whilst JR had a local flight.
Photos will be uploaded as they come to hand.
